I think that Barack Obama should be the next President of United States.  No, I am not saying this because I am a Democrat.  No, I am not saying this because I am a minority.  No, I am not saying this because I am an immigrant and just like Obama I have roots in a foreign country.  This is why I am saying:
I think that Barack Obama has the leadership qualities which not only Americans can benefit from but also the whole world.  I think that Obama has the leadership qualities which can bring together not only Americans but also the leaders and citizens of other nations.  His leadership capabilities can help this entire world deal with global issues such as terrorism, disease, poverty, food shortage and energy crisis.  Now how is it possible that one man's becoming president can address so many issues around the world? 
The answer lies in how he has raised his campaign funds.  According to OpenSecrets.org, Barack Obama has so far raised $264,493,051 (yes, $264 million) by receiving small donations in the amounts of less than $25 through his website.  These contributions were made by average Americans like you and me.    If you go to his site the first time, you will see a donation form before anything else.  Now how does his being able to raise campaign funds relates to adressing all of the above mentioned issues? 
Lets take the current energy crisis as an example.  We all are facing shortage of oil which is impacting everything else:

• It is opening us to terrorism threats because we are invading countries like Iraq.
• It is encouraging farmers to produce corn over wheat to produce ethanol as an alternative.  Thus cause shortage in food supply. Trust me if Americans producing more corn, farmers in other countries will follow the suit to make more money.
• Because there is shortage of food and food prices are up, more people are forced to sleep hungry not only in this country but around the world.
• If one cannot feed themselves, then how can they prevent any kind of disease?

How Barack Obama can fix all these problems?
Well do we really need alternative fuel by starving ourselves?  The answer is NO!.  What we really need is a change in our driving habits.  Change in the way we consume fuel and use energy.    Just the way Obama did his fund raising, he can use his website or a similar tool to change the driving habits of average Americans.  All he needs to do is have people come online and make commitment that they will cut down in their weekly driving by 10% or 20%.   Instead of driving they will carpool, take bus or work from home.  If we can start doing this rest of the world will follow us.  One of my favorite quotes by Mahatma Gandhi is " Be the change you want to see in the world".   We can be that change so that the world follows us.  And this change can also be the part of Barack Obama's "Message of Change". 
If you still don't feel that Barack Obama should be the next President, then atleast you can change your driving habits.
